I'm Laurie Robinson Haden

Founder and CEO of Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC), where I’ve spent over two decades advancing women of color in the legal field. What started with just 10 members has grown to over 5,000, creating a network committed to diversity and equity. Through initiatives like our salary negotiation program, I’ve helped legal professionals secure fair compensation and build successful careers.

With nearly 20 years at CBS as SVP and Assistant General Counsel, I understand what it takes to rise and negotiate what you’re worth. My mission is to equip others with the strategies and confidence to lead their careers and secure the opportunities they deserve.

My Story

I always knew I wanted to make an impact, so I worked hard to become the first in my family to graduate from law school. Afterward, I thought my career would be smooth sailing. But when I entered the workforce, I quickly realized the legal field wasn’t as welcoming as I had hoped, especially for women of color.

I felt discouraged, but I refused to give up. I took charge, founding Corporate Counsel Women of Color to help others like me find their path in law. Through years of hard work, I’ve built a network of over 5,000 professionals and continue to advocate for diversity, equity, and fair compensation for all.

Why I Do It

I created this course because I know firsthand how challenging it can be for women of color in the legal field to advocate for themselves, especially when it comes to negotiating salaries and career advancements. For too long, our voices have been overlooked, and many of us have struggled to receive what we deserve. I want to change that. This course equips women with the tools and confidence to negotiate from a position of strength, empowering them to break through barriers and build the careers they’ve worked so hard for. It’s time to level the playing field.
